Saturday, 21st August 2021 marks the beginning of our party’s programme of Constituency conferences .

This process will inexorably lead to our Regional and National conferences as well.

We must see this sequence of events as our opportunity to engage in a serious introspection of where we are and where we need to get to as a party. There is no denying the fact that our singular objective is how we sustain ourselves in power and become the natural electoral majority in Ghana's politics. This objective is desirable for our nations development because it is our party’s political ideology and its logical path to development that makes the New Patriotic Party the safest “pair of hands” to entrust Ghana's development into.

This onerous responsibility calls for our deepest introspection, collectively and honestly, into our immediate past electoral outcome and all the processes thereto, and to plot a sure path for doing much better at the next general election. 

We cannot and must not reduce this effort to mere slogans or triumphalist arrogance that lures us into a false sense of security that all is and shall be well.

The task ahead of us is going to require that each and everyone of us play a vital role, however great or small we may perceive that role to be.

 From this day forward, let us in the entire rank and file of the New Patriotic Party properly array ourselves for the “battle" ahead.

Once again, let us learn from the teachings of Rudyard Kipling’s IF. “If you can watch the things you gave your life to, broken, and stoop and build them with worn out tools. If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew; to serve your turn long after they are gone, and so hold on when there is nothing in you except the will which says to them, ‘Hold On'. Yours is the earth and everything there is in it". May God bless us all and grant us His travelling mercies.
