Welcome to Ghana's most visited attraction, Kakum National Park.
Tucked away in the Assin Attandanso Reserve is Kakum National Park and the Canopy Walkway, which offers visitors spectacular scenery and a fascinating wildlife experience along with modern camping facilities.
The park's best-known feature is undoubtedly its 7 suspension bridges that form a 333-meter-long canopy walkway, suspended up to 27 meters above the forest floor by trees that are more than 300 years old The canopy walk is just one of Kakum's many delights.
There are a variety of trails and guided walks that allow visitors to experience the solitude of the rainforest. It is also a top-notch site for birding, with over 300 species including eight species of global conservation interest. Mammals include the forest elephant, leopard, bongo, bushbuck, and many primates, but game viewing is difficult.
In addition, more than 600 species of butterflies have been recorded.
The forest has wild life that can be seen at night and professional guides are always available to take you on a nighttime guided tour.
The park is kid friendly so don't forget to take the kids to the newly added kids' park with super mini safe swings and play area.

.Listen to an evening concert by the local Nyamebekyere Kukyekukyeku or Orchestra, which performs with bamboo wind instruments Remember, this is a rainforest and can rain anytime, so go with your raincoat and sneakers.
It is best not to carry heavy objects in your hands as you will need your hands to hold the ropes on both sides as you walk.
Carry a backpack or fanny pack where you can keep your camera or phone at the top of the walkway.
There is a short hike before reaching the Bridges.
Make sure you wear comfortable shoes.

Getting there Kakum is about a 4 hour drive from Accra.
It is recommended that you go with your own pre-arranged transportation.
You can also go by public transport and connect from Cape Coast.
Accommodation
There is a tree house for you if you wish to spend the night for bird and wildlife watching.
The tree house is equipped with mattresses, sheets and mosquito nets and is convenient for those used to camping.
There is also an annex. tree-top lodging for anyone looking for an overnight stay for the love of animals.
Feeding The visitor center has two cafes serving main courses, snacks and fresh juices.
You can also get fresh coconuts, sable bisap (a purple drink made from water and hibiscus leaves) and bottled water from the parking lot.
Ask the woodland restaurant to prepare local food, fufu, and light goat milk soup as you go for a walk so that by the time you return, your food is ready and waiting for you.
You can try other dishes like Jollof rice.
The visitor center has all kinds of exhibits, as well as an outdoor restaurant and gift shop run by Aid to Artisans Ghana.
