Hello good day to you and everyone across the globe. My name is Rock Venus from Ghana ( Africa - Unplugged )
Editor and a writer for Ewe Ghana. I am here to analyze some few things that ghanaians can do to eradicate illiteracy rates in the country.
As writer and Editor, giving a knowledgeable reasons on primary situations and how to solved problems concerning those situations are also part of my duties. Okay so, let us take some few minutes to go through some of the problems facing Ghanaian Educational System.
Problem Facing Ghanaian Educational System.
1. The low enrolment of girls
2. Low quality in terms of poor pupil learning achievement
3. Inadequate supply of trained and qualified teachers resulting in extremes of class size
4. Lack of resources for teaching and learning.
...
The above mentioned problems are very very important to looked at in order to help the childrens in our country to gain better education. Rock Venus, I am introducing you another major challenges that is facing Ghanaian Educational System. Let's Read Below.
Here is Another Three ( 3 ) Major Challenges Facing Ghana Education System From My Opinion.
The Ghanaian education system has a lot of shortfalls. Thus, from the lower to the higher level of education, there are many problems that needs to looked at critically by the government and the Ghana Education Service. Here are three of them.
1. Teachers Condition of Service
The success of the pupil depends on the teacher. If the teacher is not well catered for by the employer, then he won’t be able to deliver and as result affect the academic performance of the pupils. In Ghana, the majority of teachers are not provided with accommodation neither are they paid rent allowance. The teacher has to use part of his/her meager salary to pay rent at the end of every month. How much is a diploma teacher paid at the end of the month?
The motivation for teachers to do more is hindered due to improper condition of service. Teachers Promotion and arrears are always delayed.
2. Curriculum and Teaching Learning Materials
The new curriculum which was recently introduced in the basic level and this was a welcoming news to every teacher and student as well. However the specific standardised text books to teach are not yet in for over one year now. Major stake holders simply ask teachers to use the resource pack that was given to them which can't be used to teach single handedly. The subjects are still loaded and as at now some teachers do not know the number of subjects that are taught at the primary school. and make calculations perfectly before they proceed to other levels. This is a major problem in Ghana education system now.
Also the Teaching and learning materials for the teachers to use are inadequate and in some places lacking. This makes teaching and learning difficult.
3. Infrastructure
Infrastructure is another major hitch in the basic school sector. There are many schools which are still under trees. Pupils and teachers sit under these trees to learn and whenever the rain threatens, the school closes. This will lead to a drastic reduction in the instructional hours and this heavily affects the other levels of education as well because these are the same students who will be placed in the various second cycle schools and later graduate to the tertiary institution. Some schools have no desk for students to sit on. This is evident by the various social media images in circulation daily. When pupils lie down or sit on the bare floor to learn, what at all do you expect them to achieve at the end of the lesson?
Let's check out some few things here concerning political levels of Ghana's education.
Ghanaian political parties always brand every issues concerning education as politics, due to this we don't have stable education here in our country. My real name is Joel Tornyi , alias Rock Venus. I am a citizen of Ghana by birth. I am here saying that our future generations depends our how we keep tackling issues concerning education in our country.
Whenever it reaches issues concerning how to solved problems in our education sector, it must not being solved on papers without putting it into practice. Solving problems on papers would not be the best and it is not the best from our olden days till date. We must put everything solving problems methods into reality and not always dreaming about how our educational systems would be.

The answer is because the country well recognizes the importance of education for all in order to improve their standards of living and to develop them as human resources who can participate in the national as well as global labour markets.
6. Education helps to achieve success
Education is necessary for developing a successful and productive life. Ghanaians need to be aware of the importance of education and need to be encouraged to accept at least primary education because this would not only improve their own selves but also open up newer avenues of success to them. ..
The importance of education cannot be undermined in any country, irrespective of whether it is a developing or a developed one. To promote higher levels of education and literacy in a country both the government and other public entities need to work in close collaboration and cooperation. In Ghana, both the public sector and the private sector entities are working towards promoting education at three levels- basic, secondary and tertiary education.
