Ghanaians likes celebrating legend's deathday than their birthday.Means we celebrate the dead more than the living. We have living legend's in the country that need support, help and financial assistance for survival.
But won't get the help they needed while's alive. The moment they are died, that's when some people will show forth with their eyeservice sympathy to come and help the dead.
In all the sectors in the country we have great people who are living legends that need to be celebrated and honored whilst they are alive. We don't honor our own. It clearly shows that we don't appreciate those who sacrifice their lives to pave certain ways and open doors for others to fellow the suit. These are part of the reasons nowadays most people don't want to be patriotic and die for the country. The Ghana first agenda is fading out gradually.
Now everyone is thinking about his or her self without thinking about what to do to support the country development and growth. There is no appreciation for those who toiled and worked hard for the country's stability. We have people who stood up and stand in the gap to defend the country in one way or other, but they have not been recognized.Let us celebrate our living legends. Legendary is a battle to conquer, before someone can reach that status.
Let's look at certain minstries such as sports, creative arts, media, legislature, executive etc, some people wrestle to fight for the establishment of these ministries.
The question is that those who were veterans and poineers who founded these ministries, what honor have they received from Ghanaians? We have not given them the prestige platinum and reward they deserved.
We have many of our legends who are very sick and broke, but nobody cares for them. Some people are of the view that, those living legends who are in delima or struggling mismanaged their wealth they obtained through their fame so they don't deserve to be helped.
This is a wicked assertion and articulation, to be thought and said about our legends. Even if it is true that some of them misappropriate and mismanage their wealth. It doesn't means that they don't deserve to be honored and appreciated.
We must help them whiles they are alive. It will motivate the next generation to become more patriotic Ghanaians.Ready to go all out to defend the country from any Criss. We must bear in mind that whatever we are enjoying today is by the sacrifice and sweat of some legends.
Whatever professions we are embarked on today, there were some people who started it first, and needed to be applauded.
The dead don't need any help, even if you foot the funeral bills and take good care of the dead person family, the one who is dead will not See it and thank you.
Let us support and aid the living while alive, so that they can say thank you to us in a form of appreciation.
I will suggest to the government if there can be a day to honor those living legends by the state.
If also there can be a special fund the state will set a side to be given to the living legends in their retired age,as a pension scheme.
I will plead with non governmental organizations and philanthropists to go and look for the living legends in the country and support them with their needs.
The government should build a hall of fame for both living and dead legends. It will serve as tourist attraction, for foreigners to come and watch their monuments. This will fetch the country money. All these monies can be used as insurance scheme for the legends.
There should be also a scholarship scheme for both the living and dead legends children to go to school, from primary to university for free.
We shouldn't let our legends die before we honored them.
