WHAT ENGINEERED THE MAD RUSH FOR THE MASSIVE TURNOUT OF ALL THE APPLICANTS DURING THE POLLING STATION NOMINATION EXERCISE?
Statiscally it is very obvious that the number of people who shown interest in the polling station nomination exercise were more than the previous four years, possibly it can be attributed to the newly polling stations that were added to the polling station lists.
Let me sound a little bit philosophycal by saying that an attracted gold is attracted to golden people.
Why did the number of people who wants to become polling station Executives increased astronomically?
It is by the unprecedented performance of the incumbent government by implementing a lot of social intervention policies such as Free SHS, one district one dam,one district one factory, one constituency one million cedis,free water and electricity,Nbssi loans to push small scale businesses and industries, Nabco, how the government managed the covid, making dumsor a tin of the pass,etc, that has made a lot of people to make an informed decision to join the party Executive positions?
It is also the Alan and Bawumia factor, of who become the next flagbearer for the new patriotic party (NPP) to lead the party to the 2024 general elections or some people thinks money will flow to exchange hands for votes, that's why some party people are glamouring for an executive position in the party at the polling station level?
Could it be that some party Executives didn't perform to their expectations and are afraid to lose their seats in the upcoming internal contest,so they deliberately fixed their own people in the polling nomination lists, to have their votes?
Should I also say that is it also a divertional tactics to intimate some of the aspirants, who are posing treats?
What at all could be the brain behind the massive turnout of the applicants who filed their nomination during the polling station exercise?
Let me leave the answers to my questions to the general public to answer, the grassroots elections are the fundementals of the party machinery,if it is not been managed and handle very well definitely it will affect the party to be stabilized at the grassroots level.
In the 2020 general elections, one of the main reasons that made the new patriotic party (NPP) lost 32 seats to the National democratic Congress(NDC)it was because the problems at the grassroots couldn't be managed and solved effectively.
It will be a frantic decision for the party to repeat the same mistakes again in the just ended, polling station nomination exercise nationwide.
I think certain measures wasn't put in place properly and that resulted some of the conflicts, misunderstandings and fight or rancour among some party people,in some constituencies, this is a total disgrace, for the same party people to attack themselves because of a nomination form.
Should I push all the blames to the general secretary office Mr John Buadu for not doing his work well,since he is the Chief Executive Officer of the party or ?
It looks very worriedsome to me that the government believe in digitalization, and the polling station nomination exercise couldn't be digitalized, the manual or manpower description of work, sometimes bring out occupational hazard.
The quarrels, fighting, vandalization, conflicts, and misunderstanding in the polling station nomination exercise is not a good sign for the party to break the eight and beyond in government.
The leaders in the party should do the right thing to get the right results.
