This is a love letter: THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT

Over the last two years I’ve been dealing with some of the hardest times of my life… as almost everyone I know, we’ve seen so much change and challenges as not only “artists” but just as humans!

TFP started as a spin off of a local band I was in, we had a cool opportunity to sign to a label and start touring the country. We signed that deal thinking all of our troubles were gone and we will be in a tour bus in no time… little did we know that this was only the beginning of having to push harder and believe in ourselves like never before. 

Fast forward a few years and I, along with some newer more dedicated and loving friends, keep pushing and growing this project (but this time independently) into more than just a little ole local band and we finally get our break and have a song blow up on SiriusXM Octane and we decided to run with it and meet some incredible new team members along the way! We reached this part in 2019 and all because we never gave into the fear of giving up! 

Trust me y’all have no clue how many times I’ve cried my heart out to my mom on the phone at 2am in a Walmart parking lot because our van won’t start or because there was only 10 kids at the show that night. But that’s not why we ever stepped foot on a stage to begin with… it was because this is who we are! 

We sleep, eat, breathe TFP. We don’t have a backup plan. We don’t want one! It gives me hope everyday that I check our socials and I see people connect with this band the way I connected to my favorite bands growing up. This is why even after the extremely brutal last two years we’ve had we wont say surrender! It’s the incredible connections we’ve made within The Coffin Crew and the other artists we’ve toured with over the years that literally makes me get up every morning!

We’ve promised a new record for literally four years now and I’m extremely happy that for once in our career we haven’t rushed something and we took the time to write the most meaningful songs we could. This record isn’t just a few songs slapped together just so we can go back to our day jobs… this record was written to be “this is THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT!”.

I’m so excited to share with y’all over the next few months so many twists and turns this band is going though! I’ve never been this excited to share my heart with everyone. Please handle it with care for I do really love you all!
